Friday Favorites

Standard

Finally, Friday is here! I have been looking forward to today all week (it’s been stressful and sad, if you’ve been keeping up with my tweets or blog) : tonight I’m going to see Milo Greene, tomorrow is the NC State Fair and the big UNC/DUKE football game, and Sunday I’m going to try out a small group with the Summit Church! I’m really hoping this weekend turns out as fun as I hope it will! 🙂 What are your plans?

I found a few links I wanted to share this week; nothing too exciting.

It’s soup season! I’ve been wanting to try new recipes, and this Taco Soup recipe from Sew Caroline looks delicious!

If you were a 90s baby, you probably remember Lisa Frank. Well, here’s a peek into her office space in Tuscon, AZ. Man, it brings back so many memories from my childhood! Not gonna lie, I was a HUGE Lisa Frank fan! Stickers, notebooks, coloring books… oh so fun.

Another Angel

Standard

Remember how my single post last week was about fighting battles and how life happens? (It was a really scattered post) Well, one of those battles was lost this past weekend.

My aunt passed away.

This world lost a fun, caring, hilarious, energetic woman… a wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, friend, woman of God. And God gained another beautiful angel.

It still doesn’t seem like it’s real, ya know? When you lose a loved one, it takes a while for reality to set in. The reality of me losing an aunt hasn’t set in, but the reality of two little girls losing their mother has hit me hard. I’m tearing up (at work!) as I type these words. Two little sweeties don’t have a Mommy anymore. I can’t even imagine.

Autumn & Gabrielle, July 2011

Those two little sweeties spent the weekend between Mere Mere’s house and their house, having tons of fun and not suspecting a thing was wrong with their Mommy. Friday & Saturday night during their prayers, they prayed for “Mommy who is at Duke because she had the cancer.” As I turned off the light and rolled over, I couldn’t stop the tears from flowing. Oh, if only they knew. Read the rest of this entry

Life

Standard

Life sure does have its ways of creeping in, doesn’t it?

I’m talking about sickness, work, stress, friendships, etc.

In the past week, life has snuck its way into my life and been rearranging it, changing it.

I’ve gotten all whacked out on my sleep schedule, haven’t been training for my 5k, been eating junky food (buffalo chicken dip!), pulled an all-nighter in a hospital waiting room, spent too much money on said junky food, watched too many episodes of Flashpoint, shared my bed with a cuddly little 6-year old cousin, been stressed to the max, and feeling the beginnings of a cold coming on.

Oh, life. Read the rest of this entry

Hey Guess What

Standard

Ya remember my tweet Sunday night at 10:17 saying that-

“I have 4 blog posts drafted and waiting to be published this week. Say what??? #blogging ” ???

Well… it was true. I did have 4 drafts.  I still have 3. But somewhere between work, eating (it’s a priority) and trying to have somewhat of a social life, I haven’t had time to edit the posts, therefore I haven’t published them. I know all of you are upset 😉

Anyways, I have a few random things to share today so I thought I would do another edition of:  Hey guess what?

… my mom found out she has Vertigo yesterday. She’s been having really bad headaches lately and been really tired. I blame the new car. Read the rest of this entry

September in Review

Standard

Adios September, Hola October!

Whew, the month of September FLEW by. Already, fall has made its presence known in the great state of North Carolina, and I couldn’t be happier. I really love fall.

It seems like I didn’t blog much during September. Well, not many memorable posts at least. Here’s what I got for ya, plus lots of cell phone pictures 😉

I blogged about the wreck my family and I were in.
